CHARLESTON, S.C. — Everybody's Ayurveda, an MVP Group company along with Colonial Candle and Midwest-CBK, will debut the eco-friendly Soyveda line, the first-to-market collection of Ayurvedic candles and home décor, at winter markets. The line is exclusively available to independent retailers.
The Namaste candle features a combination of citrus infused tea mixes with sparkling bergamot and freshly squeezed lemon.
The three-part dual purpose tealight tins are food grade and inspired by the Taj Mahal and include a domed top, base and inner lid.
Ayurveda translates to "wisdom for a healthy life" and is a system of holistic medicine that uses yoga, meditation and massage to promote wellness and dates back more than 5,000 years.
"Ayurveda is all about living in harmony with the environment and choosing natural products to live a healthier lifestyle," said Maura Utley, president, Everybody's Ayurveda.
According to Ayurveda, three energies, known as doshas, exist in each person and the universe, and the three must be in balance to experience optimum health. A quiz, available at soyveda.com, can determine if one of the doshas is more prominent, and guide individuals toward which dosha product is best suited to their needs.
The multi-purpose Soyveda Ayurvedic candles retail for $28 each and are 100% soy, vegan, chemical-free and cruelty-free, and feature a combination of organic and naturally derived fragrances. The soy wax is made from a renewable, sustainable resource and has a cleaner burn than paraffin.
Hand-blown glass vessels contain the candles, which are packaged in decorative multi-use keepsake tins.
Soyveda candles are available in six dosha-inspired fragrances and glass colors based on Ayurvedic healing formulas, including Vata (amber glass); Pitta (sage glass); Kapha (blue glass); Tridosha (purple glass); Namaste (deep red glass); Bliss (clear glass).
The Soyveda line also includes:
+ Three accessory sets packaged in keepsake tins.
+ Six sculpted travel tins filled with approximately 7 oz. of soy wax, priced at $18 each.
+ Six dual purpose tea light tins containing fifteen soy wax tea lights with one scent per tin, priced at $20 each.
+ Gift starter set with four votives comes in a keepsake metal tin and costs $30.
+ A Tridosha candle stand that holds three Soyveda candles, priced at $60.
"Ayurvedic spas and products are on the rise to meet consumer demand," Utley said. "Soyveda is a natural fit for the gift channel. What's better than giving someone the gift of good health?"
Soyveda collections will be on display and available to order in Midwest-CBK/Colonial Candle's Atlanta, Dallas, Chicago, Las Vegas, Minneapolis and Seattle showrooms. Products will ship at the end of May 2012. For additional ordering information, call 800-394-4225.
