HIGH POINT -- Orian Rugs, a vertically integrated area rug manufacturer, will make its High Point debut at the upcoming market, April 21-26.
Orian Rugs' Meredith in Cinnabar colorway presents floral teardrop designs atop a richly colored field.
The company will show in a 6,500-square-foot showroom in Showplace, Space 3233. An official ribbon cutting ceremony will take place on Saturday, April 21, at 11:15 a.m.
Orian began reaching out to conventional furniture stores in January, and pleased with the response decided to show in High Point, according to Mikala Moller, director of marketing, Orian. Prior to January, the company targeted national mass merchants and specialty retailers.
"We see a big opportunity to expand our reach with furniture stores," Moller said. "Rugs are a natural add-on to the sale of upholstery and other furnishings, and more and more stores are looking for a way to grow this part of their business."
Orian chose Showplace because of its diverse product mix in a variety of categories, Moller said.
"It's an easy building for retailers to shop," she continued. "They can find furniture, accessories, lighting and rugs all in one spot."
At market, Orian will introduce Gallery, a new line of decorative area rugs designed for furniture, independent and regional retailers. The Gallery collection features 10 different collections, 170 designs, spanning a range of constructions and styles. Price points for a 5-by-8 rug range from $99 to $299 retail.
"With this new program, we're applying our expertise in rug design and production and creating valued-priced collections designed specially for furniture and independent retail stores," Moller said. "We'll help them stand out as destinations for consumers to go to for rugs."
Orian will also show a sampling of its existing product, including the Shakespeare, Carolina Wild, Montage, Heritage and Sonoma lines.
