Havertys reports record 3rd quarter

Havertys' third-quarter sales rose 11.6% and profits totaled $9.49 million, nearly triple last year's third quarter, the home furnishings retailer reported. Comp store sales were up 11.8%, total written business was up 7.3% and average ticket rose 5.6%.

We believe the geographic regions in which our stores are located coupled with our financial strength and positioning of the Havertys brand will fuel our growth as housing and employment improve."
Havertys' retail store count at Sept. 30, 2013 was 119 versus 120 on the same day in the prior year.
For the nine months ended Sept. 30, 2013, sales increased 12.7% to $549.9 million. Comparable store sales were up 11.5%, and average ticket increased 8.6%.
