Moe's Home Collection voted top furniture store in Vancouver

The Moe's Home Collection flagship store recently won the 2013 Best of Vancouver Award for Best Independent Furniture Store. In the same contest, conducted for the 18th year by Georgia Straight, Canada's largest urban weekly publication, Moe's also received second place for best antique/reproduction furniture store and third place for best specialty furniture store.Moes Home Collection, Vancouver

The annual awards are voted on by the publication's more than 800,000 readers, which makes the honor even more special to Sara Samieian, who manages the retail division for Moe's Home Collection stores, the Pacific Northwest operation named for her father and the company's founder and CEO, Moe Samieian Sr. "It's the residents of Vancouver who vote for you, and because there are so many great furniture stores in Vancouver, it's really special to know that our store is number one to so many people," she said. "We've placed second for the past few years so when we found out we were first this year, we were so excited and couldn't wait to share the news with all the staff."Moes award

Samieian explained why the store, which has been at 1728 Glen Drive since November of 2004, is so popular with Vancouver residents. "We offer so many different styles and price points that we can really cater to all kinds of customers. We also have unique items people don't see at most other stores, and it's all presented in a friendly, relaxed atmosphere with music in the background to make customers feel comfortable."

The Samieians celebrated with staff and customers in the Moe's showroom at the IDS West Show-Vancouver, the opening night party for which coincided with the announcement of the awards.
