HIGH POINT -- Area rug and home accent source Surya is moving to a new 26,056-square-foot showroom in Showplace, space 4100, formerly occupied by the now defunct Berkline, for the upcoming High Point Market.
Surya showed this geometric design rug in fashion-forward tangerine during the winter markets.
The relocation represents a major expansion for Surya, which had shown in a 5,176-square-foot space on the third floor of the building.
"We are very excited about this new location," said Satya Tiwari, president, Surya. "A bigger showroom affords us the chance to inspire our retailers with all our latest designs and also spotlight the most important trend and color stories that are shaping the industry."
With its showroom displays, Surya will help keep retailers up-to-date on home furnishings trends and show "how they can create excitement in their own stores and maximize profits through the use of stylish rugs and accents," Tiwari said.
Surya also will use its showroom to conduct Surya University training sessions with retailers during market. The sessions provide retail salespeople with a detailed understanding of the company's line and tips about how to successfully sell rugs and other accessories to consumers.
"We are not just a product company," Tiwari said. "We are a home décor marketing solutions and technology company. A big part of our mission is providing our retail partners with solutions that will help them grow their business."
During market, Surya will introduce new products in all of its key categories, which include rugs, wall art, pillows, poufs and throws.
"In rugs and accents, we'll show fresh lattice patterns and hot colors such as tangerine, turquoise and updated grays and browns," Tiwari said. "We work hard to make sure that all of the cutting-edge trends happening in the marketplace are reflected in our lineup."
Surya will host a party for retailers on Sunday, April 22, from 6 p.m. to 2 a.m. to celebrate the opening of its new showroom. A live D.J. will provide music, a dance floor will be open, and complimentary food and beverages will be available. Also, the company will serve breakfast, lunch, and cocktails and hors d'oeuvres daily.
"We want our showroom to be a destination where retailers from around the world gather to share insights and ideas," Tiwari said. "Our showroom will be inspiring and fun, where our business partners come to get energized and see what's new and exciting."
