Allure Brings on Beach

At the New York Market — Allure Home Creation, the country's largest supplier of bath accessories and shower curtains, has now added beach towels to its assortment.
"Why do we need another beach towel player in our industry, people are probably asking," said Gabrielle Colquitt, vp, design and marketing.
It's all in the gadgets.
Allure is entering this otherwise crowded business by offering a patent-pending innovation that will "set us apart," she explained.
Chained at the corners of these 42-inch-by-72-inch beach towels are hollow plastic shells, shaped in beach motifs — including shells, the sun, dolphin and others. These shells are made to be filled with beach sand so that they can serve as weights to keep the towels from blowing away.
Up to 50 different beach towel designs are available with these weights.
The towels come in various constructions, including fiber reactive, sculpted, woven and jacquard.
Retail price points are still being developed.
In related news, for this market Allure is introducing 28 free-standing accessory collections, 50 free-standing shower curtains, 24 new bath coordinate programs, and six new Raymond Waites collections.
