EASTON, Md. - Decorating Den Interiors announced that CPI Interiors, a 14-year-old design firm in Ottawa, Ontario, is converting to a Decorating Den Interiors franchise. In addition, CPI founders Jerome and Catherine Pulcine will assume ownership of current business and future development rights for the Decorating Den franchise in the Province of Ontario.
"This is a major milestone in our expansion in North America," said James S. Bugg, Jr., president and CEO, Decorating Den Interiors. "The Pulcines built a very successful business similar to ours. Joining with us will provide them with the means to expand their local business and create new opportunities for others in Ontario to have their own interior decorating business. Additionally, the Pulcines will bring solid experience and leadership for the existing Decorating Den Interiors franchises in Ontario."
Bugg noted the positive contributions to date of Linda and John Fagg, who have owned the Ontario franchise rights since 1989 and, during that time, developed operating franchises in 11 cities throughout the province.
"We have been exploring ways to expand and to add locations and we found an ideal match in Decorating Den Interiors," said Jerome Pulcine. "We both believe in a low-overhead model that brings great variety and convenience to our customers. As we begin to operate under our new name, we want to assure our customers that our service and product variety will be even better."
"Decorating Den Interiors' proven system will enable us to grow by providing the right kind of training and business operations for others who would like to have their own home furnishings and interior design business within a highly successful franchise network," Pulcine added. "We are excited to re-brand CPI Interiors as Decorating Den Interiors and to be able to provide new interior design and home furnishings business opportunities throughout Ontario."
Decorating Den Interiors franchises located in British Columbia, Alberta and Nova Scotia are not included in this transaction, but master licenses for further development are available in those regions.
Decorating Den Interiors was founded in 1969, operates in more than 320 locations in the U.S. and Canada, and offers a family of five business options. The company was profiled in the April issue of Home Accents Today.
