Sunpan to launch art collection at High Point

Sunpan Modern Home will unveil its new black and white themed art collection during the Oct. 19-24 High Point Market.
The new collection from the Toronto-based home furnishings company includes 11 original hand-painted works of art on gallery wrapped canvas with a matte or high gloss finish, adding to the existing collection of more than 35 pieces. All Sunpan original art is commissioned by a Canadian artist who designs each painting within the parameters of a theme, with final selections then sent overseas to be reproduced by local artists.
Inspired by many fashion runway collections, Sunpan's latest line of art reflects a black and white graphic theme.
"We are very excited about our black and white collection of art this year. Looking at each piece you can see the balance of shapes, the contrast of colours and the movement of lines. We are proud to be producing artwork that is beautiful, affordable and looks great with our furniture," said Dorothy Hryc, creative director.
Since entering into the art category in 2012, Sunpan has experienced growing interest and success in these pieces, with sales tripling every quarter.
"This is a new category for us, and our customers are responding very positively," said Sundeep Bagga, Sunpan president. "When customers visit our showrooms and see the art in real life, they are really impressed with its visual impact and the way it ties in with our furniture."
