Charleston, S.C. - Colonial Candle, a 103-year-old candle company, will open its first retail store this fall in a 3,000-sq.-ft. space here. The flagship store is located in The Shops at Charleston Place. Colonial Candle will feature its complete line including the brand's signature oval jars in 70 fragrances, tapers in more than 20 colors, a luxury collection and home accessories, according to a press release.
Jim Weinberg, senior executive vice president of design for MVP Group International, parent company of Colonial Candle, conceptualized the store, which will feature oval-shaped space and displays evocative of the brand's signature jars.
"The Colonial Candle flagship store will showcase the brand's rich heritage and trailblazing new products," Weinberg said. "The theme throughout the store interprets Colonial Candle's historic roots for the modern consumer seeking personalized luxury."
Billed as a "retail and research boutique," the store will provide customers the opportunity to share their impressions of new fragrances and to collaborate with on-site event planners to choose fragrance themes and products.
The company will celebrate the store's opening with an exclusive Destination Charleston Collection, available only in the flagship store. The collection comprises six fragrances, and each candle label displays an exclusive photograph from local photographer Shannon Rae packaged in its own unique box.
