Fourteen new companies have been accepted to participate in the juried Accent on Design division at the winter 2010 NYIGF.
Accent on Design, a juried collection of nearly 200 contemporary and innovative products across all gift, home and lifestyle categories, is one of eight carefully categorized divisions of the NYIGF.
"As the standard bearer for design-driven products, Accent on Design constantly incorporates fresh new design talents alongside established design resources," said Dorothy Belshaw, NYIGF director and GLM senior vice president. "The winter 2010 newcomers will add greatly to the division's overall aesthetic, as well as to its multi-cultural mix."
The fourteen new companies accepted to participate in the winter 2010 edition of Accent on Design include:
* Erica Rosenfeld Design; Brooklyn, N.Y. (glass jewelry and glassware)
* Global State Ltd.; Taichung Taiwan (office accessories)
* JAB Inc.; Portland (men's accessories)
* Joe Cariati Glass; El Segundo, Calif. (glass)
* Koziol; Erbach, Germany (housewares, gifts and home accessories)
* Muse Group, Ltd.; Chicago (textiles)
* NEO; Rome, Italy (Neoprene accessories and home accessories)
* Pico Design; Upper Montclair, N.J. (jewelry)
* Stray Dog Designs; Chattanooga, Tenn. (home accessories)
* Tanuma, Co. Ltd.; Tokyo, Japan (sustainable tableware)
* Tkaro; Toronto, Canada (eco-friendly glass water bottle)
* Tonky Designs; Brooklyn, N.Y. (wall decals)
* Woolly Pocket Garden Co.; Los Angeles (living wall/vertical garden)
* Seasonal Living Trading Co.; Austin, Texas (furniture)
In addition to the companies accepted by the Selection Committee for first-time participation in Accent on Design, five companies -- Built NY, Kenneth Wingard, Mau, Pablo and Waste Not Paper -- will return to the winter 2010 edition following an absence from the New York market.
NYIGF also will welcome a number of emerging design talents through A+: The Young Designer's Platform Accent on Design, a showcase of promising designers; including students, recent graduates or young companies.
I'd love to hear more about the companies, vs the show. Atlanta does a great job featuring its exhibitors and gets the pr in a more subtle/professional way.
