A modern breeze injects traditional Asian designs with a crisp, cool and collected perspective. Classic rattan and carved wood offerings mingle with ikat and botanical motifs in laid-back fashion, but refresh with minimalist edge by way of industrial/rustic leanings.

A contemporary floral pattern encircles the hammered copper charger from Amoretti Brothers, featuring an aged patina ($160).	The Homeport Collections' minimalist Roshni light combines wood and metal for an effortlessly modern effect ($156 each).

Ornamental meets functional in the delicately wrought Gingko Serving set from Four Seasons Design Group, finished with gold layered over copper ($60).

Finished with a warm espresso stain, Japanese Oak is turned by hand on an old-fashioned lathe to reveal sculptural spindles fromHomart ($44 to $84).	Tightly woven rattan forms a classic urn in Barbara Cosgrove's Basket Urn lamp, complemented by a gold-lined silk taper shade ($675).

Understated porcelain cylinders are sublimely chic in the new Wheel-Thrown vases from Middle Kingdom, freshened with yellow, white and robin's egg matte glazes ($38 to $88).

An all-over lattice pattern infuses Peking Handicraft's rug with stylized exoticism.	Finished in aged bronze, the Albermarle tray table from Julian Chichester blends high style with a rustic sensibility in Light Oak Limed ($1,185).

From Cabot Lane, the indoor/outdoor Palar plaque replicates an intricately carved antique fragment in six finishes, including Saffron, Curry and Sabola ($24 to $40).

Mineral shades like graphite, sandstone, topaz and sterling lend elegant sophistication with a punch of intrigue to Peacock Alley's ikat ensemble ($112 to $460).
