Furnex 2010, Egypt's International Furniture & Home Furnishing Trade Fair organized by Expolink and managed by the Egyptian Furniture Export Council, is targeting U.S. buyers to attend its seventh annual fair, June 3-7 at the Cairo International Convention Center.
Qualified buyers receive a paid four-day trip to the Fair.
Approximately 200 Egyptian furniture manufacturers will present their latest products and production capabilities to buyers from Europe, the United States, Asia and the Middle East. The 22,000-square-meter convention floor showcases Egypt as a global sourcing destination with a range of furniture, including classic, modern, ethnic and contemporary styles. The range of designs includes residential, hotel, office, educational, kitchen, public area and outdoor furniture. Also on display are floorings, textiles, giftware and lighting systems.
“Quality has long been a fundamental characteristic of Egypt-made furniture but increasingly design is a key opportunity to differentiate Egypt from low-cost producersm” said Ahmed Helmy, chairman of Egyptian Furniture Export Council. “‘Made in Egypt’ furniture is poised to emerge as an international brand renowned for innovative design and uncompromising quality.” Furnex Egypt is one part of a long-term plan to build an internationally recognized furniture design and production industry in Egypt. Egypt now exports around $320 million with a target of $1 billion in 2012.
