Sales rise at Tuesday Morning Corporation

Tuesday Morning Corporation's comparable store sales increased by 1.6% for the quarter and by 1% for the nine-month period, ended March 13, 2010. The company reported net sales for the third quarter ended March 31, 2010 were $172 million compared to $167 million for the quarter ended March 31, 2009, an increase of 3%. Comparable store sales for the quarter increased by 1.6% comprised of a 2.9% increase in traffic and a 1.3% decrease in ticket. For the nine-month period ended March 31, 2010, net sales were $627.5 million compared to $613.1 million for the same time last year. Comparable store sales for the nine-month period ended March 31, 2010 increased 1.0%.
Kathleen Mason, president and CEO said, "We were pleased with the increase in comparable store sales and traffic for the second consecutive quarter in spite of severe weather that affected many of our stores during and around key marketing events early in the quarter. We have continued to improve our strong balance sheet, increase earnings, and eliminate debt."
