Jane Seymour Home debuts Cimmaron Valley Collection at Vintage Verandah

High Point Market Preview

-- Home Accents Today, 4/3/2008 6:21:00 AM

Actress and designer Jane Seymour will welcome press and retailers at a Western-themed cocktail party Tuesday, April 8, from 5-7 p.m. in her new High Point Showroom with Vintage Verandah (IHFC H427), to celebrate the debut of her Cimmaron Valley Collection for Jane Seymour Home. This new collection is inspired by the beauty of the American West and its influence on Seymour’s creativity and lifestyle.

Cimarron Valley transports Jane Seymour Home to a new, casual, western-inspired look with prairie patterns in denim and desert colors. Designed with a transitional and trans-generational appeal, her newest collection of bedding, lighting and decorative accessories offers Jane Seymour’s signature attribute of bedroom makeovers and mix-and-match. The patterned comforters reverse from prairie florals to bold native American prints. The lighting collection is built around Western memorabilia such as the “Remedy” lamp with its doctor’s medicine bag, along with remedy bottles, cowboy boots, wolves and decorative pillows in tooled leather.

Raymond Waites creates furniture as art in The Phillips Collection showroom

The Phillips Collection invites market attendees to a special event featuring designer Raymond Waites Wednesday afternoon at 2 p.m. in the company’s showroom (IHFC C-202). Waites will not only unveil, but also paint product for his new collection with The Phillips Collection. The project, called “Not a Chair,” involves Waites’ use of furniture as art, i.e. Louis XV dining chairs upholstered in white canvas and painted to become objets d’art, according to Jason Phillips.

Waites spent two weeks in Asia with principles from The Phillips Collection, developing 7-foot sculptures, glowing outdoor sculpture and unique hand painted eccentricities. The new collection represents a re-exploration of Waites’ fine art background and introduces fusion art pieces, accessories, sculpture and furniture as art.
