Red Wing, Minn. — Apropos Home, owned by Cecily Disana, opened at 311 Bush St., selling new and antique furnishings and high-end consignment pieces.
Enid, Okla. — Hobby Lobby is being remodeled, adding 9,000 square feet, and increasing its inventory of home accents, wall decor and ceramics.
West Des Moines, Iowa — Artis Home Gallerie opened on the north side of West Glen Town Center. Products include furniture, gifts and home accessories. Founded more than 80 years ago, the family-run business operated up until August as Artis Home Furnishings.
Freehold, N.Y. — Tip Top Furniture held a grand opening in November to celebrate its remodeled store and remerchandised showroom. The 26,000-sq.-ft. building, at 9477 Route 32, also has a newly redesigned exterior. The retailer has added and expanded its home furnishings and accessories lines and offers free interior design services.
Oklahoma City — Adam and Brittany Branscum are opening BD Home, a home furnishings and gift shop.
Holland, Mich. — Big Lots opened a new 22,600-sq.-ft. store at 2353 North Park Dr. Big Lots currently holds the number 15 spot on Home Accents Today's list of the Top 50 Home Accent Retailers by sales volume.
Columbia, S.C. — Local designers Anna Kemper and Marnie Clayton opened MACK Home, a furniture, home accents, lighting, art and jewelry store, at Trenholm Plaza. Previously, Clayton was a principal of M.C. Interiors and Forty-One, a design firm and home interiors store. Kemper most recently was principal of Biba Interiors, a design and retail business offering home decor, art, jewelry and fashion accessories.
Natchez, Miss. — Morgan Alexandra's opened at 102 Front St. on the Vidalia Riverfront. Owners BeBee Tiffee and Dana White previously owned Martha's Vineyard in downtown Natchez. The store carries gifts, jewelry, home decor and children's items.
Chattanooga, Tenn. — Kirkland's opened in a 7,200-sq.-ft. space at 2100 Hamilton Place Blvd. Headquartered in Nashville, the retailer operates 295 stores in the United States is ranked 25th on the Home Accents Today list of Top Home Accent Retailers by sales volume.
Edwards, Colo. — Vanessa Lyons and Mary Pleasants opened Vintage Magnolia at 295 Main St. in the Riverwalk. The shop, in addition to being a full-service florist, carries gifts and home accessories.
Kansas City, Mo. — Thirty-two-year-old housewares and home furnishings retailer Function Junction reopened in a larger, redesigned space at its location in Crown Center. The additional space includes a demonstration kitchen.
Albertville, Ala. — Sticks 'N' Stuff opened a location in the Midway Plaza shopping center. The 15,000-sq.-ft. store carries furniture, accessories and bedding.
Hingham, Mass. — Suzanne's Home Furnishings and Gift Boutique opened at 132 North St.
Sacramento, Calif. — Veteran Sacramento interior designer LeSanne Lindborg opened a 2,000-sq.-ft. design studio and home furnishings store at 810 Alhambra Blvd.
Pelham, Ala. — Issis & Sons Carpet and Oriental Rugs opened Issis & Sons Furniture Gallery in Pelham on Highway 119.
Atlanta — Crate & Barrel's seventh CB2 store is opening in Atlanta in a new 12th & Midtown mixed-use development center. The 14,000-sq.-ft. store is scheduled to open in the summer of 2010.
