BJ’s Home Accents, Feizy Rugs inducted into ARTS Awards Hall of Fame

Dallas Market Center and the Accessories Resource Team (ART) announced the induction of BJ’s Home Accents and Feizy Rugs into the ARTS Awards Hall of Fame.

The Hall of Fame, conceived by ART and the Dallas Market Center in 2003, honors companies that have won five awards within a specific category at the ARTS Awards. Once a company is inducted into the Hall of Fame it is not eligible to compete in the ARTS Awards for the following three years in the category it was inducted, but it may participate in other categories.

BJ’s Home Accents and Feizy Rugs both received their fifth ARTS awards during the ARTS gala held Saturday, Jan. 17, 2009, in The Grand Pavilion at the Trade Mart.

“We are proud to honor BJ’s Home Accents and Feizy Rugs,” said Sharon Davis, executive director, ART. “Both companies truly deserve their spot in the ARTS Hall of Fame.”

Retailer BJ’s Home Accents was founded by Bill Fortson and John Clements in 1979 to offer one-stop shopping for decorative home accessories, including a large selection of fine furniture, gifts, ornaments and seasonal decorations. BJ’s is located in Newburgh, Ind. and has been consistently recognized at the ARTS Awards in the Home Accent Specialty Store category for the Midwest/Southwest region.

Manufacturer Feizy Rugs has led the rug industry since 1973, winning ARTS Awards in the Area Rugs category. John Feizy combined his forward-looking vision with his family’s 30-year record of successfully bringing beauty to room designs with traditional hand knotted Persian and Oriental area rugs. The company is based in Dallas, Texas while catering to international clients.

The two companies join an exclusive roster of Hall of Fame members including C.S. Wo & Sons, Distinctive Designs International Inc., Fine Art Lamps, Montaage, Natural Decorations Inc., Palecek, Robb & Stucky, and Schonbek Worldwide Lighting.

The ARTS Awards, held each year during Dallas Market Center’s January Total Home and Gift Market, is the premier awards program for the decorative accessories industry which recognizes excellent retailers, manufacturers, sales representatives and designers from around the world.
