WAC Lighting has named Shelley Wang its new president.
In her new position Wang will oversee all operations of WAC Lighting Company, including WAC Lighting North America and W2 Architectural Lighting, its architectural division specializing in specification grade commercial products. She will coordinate all sales, marketing, development and administrative activities, in conjunction with the firm's state-of-the-art manufacturing campus in China.
In her previous position, Wang served as vice president and general manager of WAC Lighting. She joined the firm in 2004 and is the daughter of Tony and Tai Wang (founders and principals of W.A.C. Lighting).
"During the past five years Shelley has demonstrated tremendous leadership abilities,” Tony Wang said. “She has spearheaded our Responsible Lighting campaign with continual development of sustainable products, employee empowerment, community service and responsiveness to feedback from our customers. As we go forward in a new chapter at WAC, we face many challenges in this volatile global economy. With Shelley at the helm, we will continue to grow as a Responsible Lighting company contributing positively to our industry, our environment and our community."
Prior to joining WAC Lighting, Ms. Wang served as an employee benefits consultant at Deloitte & Touche, a global professional services organization that specializes in tax, auditing, financial services, and other consulting.
She also serves on the Board of Directors of the New York Asian Women’s Center, the exclusive resource in New York with special Asian language, culture counseling and shelter capabilities to help Asian victims of violence and human trafficking.
Celebrating its 25th anniversary this year, WAC Lighting is a leading manufacturer and designer of track, recessed, undercabinet, monorail and decorative lighting.
