Five Best New Product Award winners were announced last week at the Ex*Tracts show in New York. The awards were presented in five new categories - Bath & Body, Natural/Organic, Beauty Accessory, Cosmetic & Fragrance and Packaging, as well as Best of Show. Nearly 60 new products were submitted.
The winners are:
* Best of Show: Hush Fragrances for Hush AromaPulse, a new technology that delivers long-lasting essential oil fragrance to the home.
* Bath & Body: Two Square Meters for Lil' One Wipe, fragrance-free, hypoallergenic baby wipes that are individually packaged for longevity and convenience. * Natural/Organic: Tezsa International for t'Zerah Forbidden Fruit Collection, a delicate fragrance of pure essential oils that repair and restore fatigued, dehydrated skin. * Beauty Accessory: Sohum Cosmetics for its Hawaiian Luau Gift Box, a collection of tropical spa products that create the sense of a summer holiday. * Cosmetic & Fragrance: D.L. & Company for its Memoirs of a Geisha Japanese Pear candle, a rare botanic candle inspired by the best-selling novel and nationally-acclaimed movie. * Packaging: Sohum Products for its Pink Frangipani Candlier, a hand wax candle beautifully packaged in a jewel-top box. A panel of editors judged the entries and selected winners based on innovative product concept, industry need, aesthetic appeal, creative use of materials or technology and creative packaging. Judges were: Michelle Edgar, beauty reporter, Women's Wear Daily; Adelaide Farah, group editorial director, Beauty Fashion; Nanci Jeffries, contributing editor, Global Cosmetic Industry; Marie Redding, senior editor, CPC Packaging; and Meredith Schwartz, editor, Gifts & Decorative Accessories.
