Guildmaster recently announced several executive appointments.
Margaret Powers has joined the company as vice president of sales and marketing. Powers is an industry veteran, having work with market centers in Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Chicago and New York. She has also held senior sales positions in The Hershey Company and Enesco Group.
Karen Kaminsky was recently named vice president of merchandising. In her new role, Kaminsky works closely with the product development and sales to produce and execute a line that is "well-balanced, trend-right, competitively priced and saleable," a press release stated. Prior to joining Guildmaster, she worked at Napastyle where she was responsible for creating and implementing the company's merchandising strategy aligning product development, marketing, merchandising and inventory. She has also held merchandising positions with Martha Stewart Living, Target and Williams-Sonoma.
"Karen possesses a high taste level, a good product eye, strong gut instinct and a passion for product," Crowder said. "We are excited to have her on our team as we create the new ‘wow' factor that our customers and sales people have come to expect from Guildmaster."
The company has also named Georgia Ipsen as its new corporate controller. She was previously plant controller at Carlisle Transportation Products in Springfield, Mo. She has a broad background in standard cost accounting, variance analysis, forecasting and cash management. Previous to this she worked for a specialty brand catalog company serving the home and gift markets.
"We are delighted to have Georgia bring her knowledge and years of experience to aid the company in its growth plans," Crowder said. "Georgia has worked with Fortune 500 companies through rapid growth transitions and this experience will greatly help Guildmaster during the next phase of the company's growth."
Crowder went on to add that the new additions to the management team show a strong level of commitment to "establishing Guildmaster as a premium brand in the marketplace."
"We have built a company around an exceptionally talented group of leaders who have a passion for this industry," he said.
