Colonial Mills reorganizes sales teams

Hires 18 independent sales reps

Colonial Mills Inc., manufacturer of braided-texture area rugs and accessories, has reorganized its sales department by hiring 18 outside, independent sales representatives.

CMI, which has solely operated with an internal sales staff for several years, determined this move was important to best maximize the continued growth of the company.

 “This change was made to ensure we’re marketing the CMI brand to all the ‘mom and pop’ stores and the medium-sized retailers,” said Donald M. Scarlata, president and CEO of CMI. “We now feel we have a team in place that can best satisfy our customers’ needs while communicating the many benefits of ‘braided’ as a construction, not a style.”

The outside reps, as well as National Sales Managers Gregg Scarlata and Meredith Thayer report to Roy Evans, vice president of sales & marketing.

The new independent sales reps, and their respective sales territories are:
