The raw nickel finish on this lamp, fixture and pedestals offers a contrast with the rustic accents of cowhide and antiqued wood on the designs.
Based in Oxnard, Calif., the U.S. division of Light & Living aims to "provide retail stores and interior designers a complete high-design home lighting and accessory line at remarkably affordable prices," according to a press release.
Ramsey M. Davies assumed the role of the new division's CEO on July 1.
"Having surveyed the current marketplace, we noticed a dearth of high-style, mid-price products. So my European partners and I created a North American division to provide great value in lighting, accent furniture, soft goods and decorative accessories to retailers and designers alike, without compromising quality," Davies said. "We are confident that the industry will be thrilled with the style and value of Light & Living's product offerings."
Light & Living will debut at the winter gift and home markets in Atlanta, Dallas and Las Vegas in January 2013.
An established European brand for more than 35 years, Light & Living partners with factories throughout Asia to provide its products at a value-based price point, the press release stated.
"We have joint ventures with factories, so our pricing is phenomenal," Davies said. "It's another great feature, that we have this great design with direct-from- factory pricing."
The company's designs are inspired by world travel, with four collections comprising the U.S. launch - New York, a bold, industrial-inspired line; St. Tropez, a softer collection with a French country touch; Stockholm, defined by natural elements and organic style; and Bruxelles, combining elegant traditionalism with contemporary European influence.
Davies said the concept of products designed to reflect the cities that inspired them is part of what drew him to Light & Living.
"I like their concept. It's kind of a fresh new look on what's happening with our industry, and the chance to be on the ground floor with a brand new company, that's exciting for anyone who's entrepreneurial," Davies said. "To be on the ground floor with a great concept and great pricing just struck me as a home run."
Light & Living will also introduce its mix-and-match lamp shades and bases to the North American market, allowing consumers to customize each purchase.
The company's products will be warehoused and shipped from Los Angeles beginning in January 2013.
Light & Living will show at Ameri-casmart in Atlanta in Building 2, showroom 918; the Dallas World Trade Center in suite 520; and the World Market Center in Las Vegas on the new C-3 Floor, suite C379.
