IMC, ITMA to launch International Pavilions at June Showtime

HIGH POINT -- International Market Centers and the International Textile Market Association will launch a new International Pavilions at the upcoming semiannual Showtime Fabric Market held here June 3-6.

According to IMC, 21 companies from Turkey, Taiwan and China will make their U.S. show debut through the customized Pavilion in the Suites at Market Square. The 21 new exhibitors will join the more than 165 existing exhibitors, which comprise 80 permanent showrooms and 85 temporary exhibitors.

"We are ecstatic with what has happened with the International Pavilions in such a short period of time," said Bob Patton, three-time president of ITMA and president of the ITMA board of directors. "We, as an association, don't have the resources to be as aggressive as IMC who has been an invaluable partner to us. This is the best thing that has happened to Showtime in years."

Bob Maricich, CEO of IMC, which owns and operates Suites at Market Square, also expressed his pleasure with expanding Showtime's exhibitor base.

"We are fortunate to have had the full support on this initiative from Bob Patton and the ITMA from day one," Maricich said. "Not only does this group of exhibitors represent a 24 percent increase in temporary exhibitors for the June event, but really demonstrates a global trend in the fabric and textiles industry. With the stagnant European economy, these foreign companies view the United States as an opportunity to grow their business, and we are positioned to help them do that."

The International Pavilions will be separated into three sections showcasing sources from each of the three countries, according to IMC.


The group of Turkish companies has been organized by UIB (ULUDAG IHRACATCI BIRLIKLERI) whose mission is to increase exports and ensure that the development of foreign trade is in accordance with the interests of the country. UIB has assembled a group of 11 industry-leading companies from Turkey, a country well known for its trend-setting designs in home textiles. Participating companies include:


Founded in 1990 in Bursa, AKARCA specializes in the production of decorative curtains, fantasia tulle curtains and table cloths. AKARCA, which exports 60% of products worldwide, produces 3 million square meters a year.


The company utilizes the latest technology and the most modern machines to achieve a high capacity of production and all kinds of equipment to make woven, embroidered and jacquard fabrics. With 30 years of experience, Burkay Tekstil is one of the biggest 5 home textile companies in Turkey today, according to the company.


Dersiyon Tekstil, which was founded in 1997, is a manufacturer of fabrics for home decoration and contract business. The company sells its products to manufacturers of ready mades, retail fabric stores, distributors, wholesalers and hotels all over the world under our brand names Stella and Tendenza. Its factory and headquarters are located in Bursa. The company has branches in Istanbul, Bulgaria and in Ukraine. They offer all kind of fabrics for different markets and tastes; from classic to modern, from high-end, exclusive fabrics to first quality fabrics for the middle and lower segment of the market.


Since 1929, textiles have been part of the TURKUN family. The company has earned a reputation for offering a wide variety of exclusive designs from its experienced and committed design team and technical department.


Elvin has a solid history on production of decorative sheers and drapery. With more than 50 years of experience in producing technical and decorative fabrics, Elvin is evolving into a global brand with a young and enthusiastic team, while maintaining its respected corporate identity.


Guleseer Tekstil was founded in 1985 in Ankara and now is located in Bursa with the latest technological jacquard looms. It has high capacity production and exports to more than 70 countries. The company owns two brand names: "Guleser" is the worldwide brand name and "Done" is for the domestic market.


Kacar Textile is one of the oldest jacquard upholstery and drapery fabrics manufacturers in Turkey. Founded in 1945, Kacar Textile has grown in decades with its dedication towards customer satisfaction and its use of contemporary technology. The company's facilities and headquarters are located in Bursa Industrial Region over a 18,000 sq.-m. closed factory area. Kacar Textile's exports more than 70% of its production to more than 50 countries.


Founded in 1985, Moral Textile is one of the leading curtain fabric producers in Turkey, specializing in the production of sheer and jacquard fabrics for curtains. The company exports 90% of its products to more than 50 countries all over the world. The company has its own design team and 50 years of experience in the home textile business.


POLYTEKS was founded in 1986, in the Demirtaş Industrial Zone of Bursa. The factory specializes in manufacturing synthetic yarns. In addition to a steady rate of capacity increase, POLYTEKS has also increased its product diversity in accordance with the customer needs. POLYTEKS operates in its own modern production plant. The company's production capacity is over 2,000 tons per month including POY, raw white and spun dyed FDY, texturized, air covered and twisted yarns.


Tanriverdi Mensucat A.S. was incorporated in 1970 for the wholesale and retail sales of home textile products. Construction of the Group's first plant at Çatalca was completed in 1986. 12 new production facilities have been set up since 1986. Tanriverdi Group manufactures curtains and exports to more than 80 countries.


Teksko was established for production of home textiles in 1980, and creates velvet, curtain and interior weaving. Teksko produces jacquard and plain textiles with different quality options. In expanding its production line and product range, Teksko offers natural fibers like linen, cotton, silk, Kashmir and wool,as well as TR CS, polyester, acrylic, and outdoor textiles. The company exports 80% of its production to 52 different countries.


The Taiwan Textile Federation has been servicing the Taiwan Textile industry since 1975 through market promotion, product design, fashion information analysis, online information, technology training, collection and analysis of market information, certification of functional textiles, publications of textile information, issuance of Certificate of Origin, and other textile-related services. TTF has acquired ISO 9001 certification from the British Standards Institution for quality control systems. This organization has brought a group of six companies to show in the International Pavilion at Showtime.


Everest SH is a weaving , dyeing and finishing manufacturer, with an annual capacity is 36 million meters. Everest SH supplies fabrics for home textiles and the contract market.


LIBOLON is the brand of Lealea Group. LIBOLON services upholstery, curtain and eco-friendly textile.



Merryson develops products and designs sold to North America, Europe and Australia. Merryson uses the home furnishing brand "Salamanka."


Sarich specializes in woven jacquard and dobby fabric for multi-purpose including drapery curtain and upholstery.


Tri Ocean manufactures polypropylene fiber, yarns and fabrics. The PP fiber is names Dreamfel, which is the registered trademark for filament. Dreamfel is made of 100% polypropylene that production process is UNI ISO 9001, Oeko-Tex 100 class 1 as well as Bluesign certificated.


The Yuhang Fabric Association has sponsored a group of four leading manufacturers to show as part of the inaugural launch of the International Pavilions at Showtime. Yuhang has a long history in the home textiles industry and was honored as the "Famous Cloth Art City of China" by China Textile Industry Association and China Home Textile Industry Association. Mayafab supplies high-quality dobby and plain fabrics to the furniture and home textiles markets with over 15 years of international experience.

ZheJiang Futurism Fabric Co., Ltd.

Futurism is an upscale quality producer targeting residential, hospitality, and contract fabric markets with a full range of plain and textured constructions in a wide international range of colors.

Kampf is a broad value producer of body and decorative fabrics for the Furniture trade in each market's current range of selling colors. Kampf has over 15 years of working with jobbers, wholesalers, and volume cut and sew internationally.
Chinese weaver Kentex creates original designs and constructions for the European and U.S. upholstery markets.


International Market Centers has contracted with Al Bolton, long-time fabric industry executive, and his agents in Turkey, Taiwan and China to assist in the development and coordination of this effort.

"We look forward to using this June 2012 show as the launching pad for attracting the best fabric producers in the world to showcase their original designs and constructions at Showtime and the International Pavilions in the future," Bolton said.

Sevim Keskinci heads the selling efforts in Turkey and Western Europe. Sevim has 10 years' experience working with Mood in Brussels coordinating with the Turkish Fabric Associations and producers.

Carol Huang leads the selling efforts in Asia concentrating on Taiwan and China for this first effort. Carol comes from the industry supply side having managed international sales for Asian specialty yarn and fabric producers.

Both Sevim and Carol grew up in the Textile Fabric Industries in their respective international regions.
