Former Wal-mart exec Jim Haworth to head retail services for Sears, Kmart stores

Sears Holdings announced yesterday that James H. Haworth will join the company as EVP and president – Retail Services succeeding Kevin R. Holt who will be leaving the company to pursue other opportunities. Haworth will be responsible for the oversight, leadership and strategic growth of retail services for all Kmart and Sears stores, and will serve as a member of the internal holding company business unit board of directors.
Haworth spent 20 years with Wal-mart Stores, Inc., in roles of increasing responsibility including executive vice president of operations for Sam's Club and executive vice president and COO, Wal-mart Stores, Inc. He most recently served as chairman, president and CEO for Chia Tai Enterprises International Limited & CP Lotus, an investment holding company principally engaged in the operation of one-stop shopping centers within China. In 2005, he founded Business Decisions Inc., a consulting firm specializing in strategic product marketing for the retail, merchandising and supply chain industries.

Haworth, who earned a bachelor's degree from University of CentralMissouri, will join the company on Jan. 31.
