Jane Seymour, Michael Payne team up with Shady Lady

New High Point showroom will debut new licenses and collections

-- Home Accents Today, 9/29/2009 8:09:00 AM

Shady Lady will be debuting two new licenses with Jane Seymour Designs and Michael Payne Home Collection along with a new outdoor lighting line at the upcoming High Point Market.

Debuting alongside these introductions is a new showroom located in the International Home Furnishings Building, W254.

“Our new showroom is larger and more centrally located, which we are very excited about,” said Susie Morter, Shady Lady president.  “We are focusing on manufacturing more and more of our lighting products in our own factory in Grafton, Wisc., and are looking forward to displaying these items at High Point.”

The new Jane Seymour line includes table and floor lamps, wall sconces and chandeliers.  "This partnership with Shady Lady Lighting is very exciting for me,” Seymour said. “Designing my own home to reflect warmth and creativity has been a great joy and I feel privileged to be joining Shady Lady Lighting in making my designs available to others."

Jane Seymour Designs is a home category collection inspired by the accomplished actress/artist’s own passion for art and design.

“Jane has a wonderful sense of color and design for the home,” Morter said.  “Our first lighting collection will be derived from Jane’s Ocean and Garden Serenity themes, which embraces a simple understated luxury in serene colors and is inspired by the earth’s oceans, beaches and lush gardens.

Shady Lady has also teamed up with designer, author and the original host and designer of HGTV’s “Designing for the Sexes”, Michael Payne, to launch a co-branded American made line of indoor lighting.

“The Michael Payne collection will bring Shady Lady Lighting a fresh new approach to contemporary lighting that the company has never created before,” Morter said. The first set of lamps to debut from this new collection are inspired by designs Payne has created for his other licensed furniture and accessory lines and will utilize combinations of clean, contemporary shapes and iron.

“I am most excited and enthused to be working with Shady Lady on a new line of lighting products,” Payne said. “They have a recognized high standard of excellence in the design and manufacture of lamps so our collaboration will result in truly exceptional products. The lamps in my collection feature unique new designs not only for the lamps, but also for their coordinating shades.  I am most impressed with Shady Lady’s exceptional technical skills in producing my designs.”

A ribbon cutting ceremony is scheduled to take place on Sunday, October 18th at Shady Lady’s new showroom IHFC, W254 starting at 4pm. Payne will be present for the ribbon cutting and visitors at market are invited to attend and stay for a gala with refreshments following the ceremony.
