June 15, 2010,
Hearst Brand Development has announced the debut of the Country Living Artisans Collection.
Handmade by skilled artisans in North Carolina, this collection of furniture was created by Debbie Jones of French Laundry Home, in a collaboration with Country Living magazine. Upholstery, fabrics and pillows will be unveiled at the Dallas Gift and Home Furnishings Market, June 23-29 in the Codarus Showroom, 531-WTC.
"This partnership has enabled us to deliver an heirloom quality furniture collection that illustrates authentic artisan craftsmanship and the role they've played in building an American legacy in fine furniture," said Glen Ellen Brown, vice president of Hearst Brand Development, a unit of Hearst Magazines which publishes Country Living. "The collection captures the spirit of iconic American design found in the pages of the magazine and celebrates and communicates the talents of today's master craftsman for future generations."
Among the pieces that will debut in Dallas are a selection of classically inspired chairs with updated shapes including a slipper chair and ladder back arm chair, a deep seat tufted sofa and a poof ottoman featuring iconic feed sack images.
The exclusive Country Living fabric assortment offers 50 upholstery options curated by Debbie Jones in a range of country-inspired color palettes including boysenberry, ash and redwood. In addition, the collection includes 10 fabric options from the Country Living Sunbrella line, offering added durability for full lifestyle needs.
"The collaboration of Hearst and French Laundry is an opportunity to showcase the incredible talents of local craftspeople and their ability to produce high-quality handmade furniture and textiles, through Country Living's Artisans Collection," Jones said.
Country Living's Artisans Collection will be available through boutique furniture retailers, home décor and gift stores, and catalogs in mid- to late August.
Suggested retail prices for Country Living's Artisans Collection range from $1,200 to $3,000.
