Elk Group International promotes John Haste

Elk Group International, parent company of brands such as Elk Lighting, Sterling, Dimond and Lazy Susan, has promoted industry veteran John Haste to senior vice president of sales and marketing.
As part of this new position, Haste will also be in charge of managing the company’s hospitality division, Elk Hospitality.
Haste began with Elk in 2009 as vice president of sales and marketing, spearheading Elk’s expansion into the home furnishings channel. According to a press release, he was instrumental in installing a furniture and accessory sales force as well as accelerating the company’s market position through strategic acquisitions of Sterling Industries, Bailey Street and, most recently, Lazy Susan.
Through this home furnishings channel growth, Elk has increased its showroom presence to more than 60,000 square feet in the major trade marketplaces. The company has a total of six permanent showrooms in High Point, Las Vegas, Dallas and Atlanta and temporaries in New York and High Point, where it showcases its offering of more than 9,000 SKUs.
Haste also serves on the City of Hope Home Furnishings Board, is vice chairman of the Oklahoma State University Medical Authority and vice chairman of the Trustees of the Oklahoma State University Medical Center. Prior to joining Elk, Haste was vice president of sales and marketing for Imax. He resides in Tulsa, Okla., with his wife.
