Easton, Md. -- Decorating Den Interiors, North America's largest home furnishings and interior design franchise company, named its Chairman's Circle franchise owners for 2013. The award is earned by being among the highest sales producers for the year.
"The Chairman's Circle awards are the first we announce each year," said James S. Bugg, Sr., who has served as company chairman since 1984, and is a member of the International Franchise Association's Hall of Fame. "We do not announce the exact rankings within the Chairman's Circle until our annual conference in May, but we like to recognize the entire group as a wonderful way to start the New Year."
Chairman's Circle achievers are:
Barbara Elliott and Jennifer Ward Woods, owners of Decorating Den Interiors of Stone Mountain, Ga.
Anne Fawcett, owner of Decorating Den Interiors of Milton, Mass.
Lisa Landry, owner of Decorating Den Interiors of Arlington, Texas
Bonnie Pressley, owner of Decorating Den Interiors of Fort Worth, Texas
H.D.Pugh franchise of Leesburg, Fla.
Catherine Pulcine, owner of Decorating Den Interiors of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada.
Nola Shivers, owner of Decorating Den Interiors of Springfield, Mo.
Jeanette Turk, owner of Decorating Den Interiors of Baton Rouge, La.
Tonie Vander Hulst, owner of Decorating Den Interiors of Redlands, Calif.

Keely Woodford, owner of Decorating Den Interiors of Woodstock, Ga.
Decorating Den Interiors, which was founded in 1969, has franchises throughout the U.S. and Canada and is ranked in Entrepreneur magazine's top 500 franchises.
The company recently announced it added 23 new franchises across the U.S. and Canada, a new master licensee and two new district developers in the year 2013. Average sales per franchise outlet increased by double digit percentages above 2012 levels and to an all-time high, above pre-recession levels.
"Our franchise owners produced the highest monthly sales average in the company's history," Bugg said. "We continued the trend of attracting more people with previous experience in interior design or other aspects of home furnishings, while still attracting those from other fields. Canada, in addition, continues to show strength both in attracting new owners and retail sales. The owners of one of our top franchises have committed to further development of the Atlanta Metro area by becoming master licensees, and we added two district developers. All in all, 2013 was a very good year for our company."
Barbara Elliott and Jennifer Ward Woods, sisters who have grown their franchise in Stone Mountain, Ga. to be one of the most successful in the company having garnered many interior design and sales awards acquired the master license in December, which assigns them the rights to market and develop additional franchises serving the metro Atlanta area.
The two new district developers are Jan Bromberek, 2013 Franchise Owner of the Year from Plainfield, Ill., who will support new franchises in the western suburbs of Chicago, and Denise Smith, franchise owner in Norman, Okla. who will support new franchises in the Oklahoma City area.
Other accomplishments during the year include a new website to assist those interested in exploring franchise ownership options and a new branding look to reflect the company's broader offering of home furnishings.
"While historically our business was built primarily with women with an eye and passion for design, but often from other careers, such as teaching, or sales, this past year shows that we are also attracting savvy experienced home interiors professionals who have been displaced when the furniture store or design center they worked for closed or are simply looking for greater independence. They are finding that our supplier network, business systems and continuing education provide a substantial advantage," Bugg said.
"Today our design professionals provide a wider range of home interior options than can be found from any single source," he added. "They represent more than 85 home furnishings suppliers offering our customers furniture, case goods, accessories, lighting, floor and wall coverings, draperies and other hard and soft window treatments. And our hallmark benefit is that we continue to take samples directly to the client's home or office, provide complimentary design services, and personally see projects through to completion."
