Martha Stewart and Macy's settle legal dispute

Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia, Inc. and Macy's have resolved their legal dispute regarding Stewart-branded bedding, bath and cookware at JCPenney, according to a statement released by MSLO.
The statement, dated Jan. 2, 2014, read, "Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia, Inc. and Macy's have resolved their legal dispute, and we are pleased to be able to put this matter behind us. The terms of our settlement are confidential, will not be disclosed, and are not deemed to be material to MSLO. We can now return our focus to what we do best - bringing beautifully designed, high quality, affordable products to consumers nationwide. We look forward to a continued, successful partnership together."
In October,2013, MSLO and JCPenney announced they had "reworked the parameters of their licensing and design arrangement," with MSLO continuing to design branded projects for JCPenney in window treatments, window hardware, lighting, rugs, holiday and party goods. Dropped were bedding, bath, kitchenware, cookware and tabletop - all of which Macy's claimed as exclusives under its contract with Omnimedia
