USA announced as partner country for Ambiente 2015

Messe Frankfurt selects partner country each year

The United States of America will be the partner country for Ambiente 2015, Messe Frankfurt officials announced this week. The name of the 2015 partner country was revealed during a ceremony Monday night, Feb. 10 at which Japanese Ambassador to Germany Takeshi Nakane handed over Ambiente's "partner country globe" to Kevin C. Milas, U.S. Consul General.

"Ambiente is the world's leading event for design trends in the consumer-goods sector," Milas told a group of journalists and dignitaries on hand for the announcement, which took place at Messe Frankfurt on the eve of the closure of the 2014 edition of Ambiente. "With more than 4,700 exhibitors from around 90 countries, it is an outstanding platform for U.S. home products companies that want to strengthen their position in international markets. We are excited about our upcoming cooperation as partner country with Messe Frankfurt for 2015, and we look forward to showcasing cutting-edge American interiors, housewares and outdoor design products."

Dennis Smith, president of Atlanta-based Messe Frankfurt North America, said of the choice, "For decades, Ambiente has been the premier European showcase for US manufacturers to present their newest collections and designs in the product areas of dining, living and giving. We are honoured to be announced as partner country at Ambiente 2015 and pledge that the US presentation will encompass the American spirit and surpass expectations on design elements that Ambiente is so well known for around the world."

"We are delighted that the United States of America will be next year's partner country of the world's leading trade fair for the consumer goods industry. As hosts, we will offer long-standing and new exhibitors from the ‘land of opportunity' the perfect setting for a successful Partner Country presentation", said Detlef Braun, member of the management board, Messe Frankfurt GmbH.

This week in Frankfurt, 4,724 exhibitors from 89 countries are making presentations at Ambiente. The U.S. is one of the top 15 exhibitor nations and ranked sixth in visitors for 2013. The next Ambiente will be held Feb. 13-17, 2015.
