Surya kicks off 35th anniversary celebration

SURYA BEGANS ITS year-long 35th anniversary celebration at the Atlanta market last month, and will also host parties in Las Vegas this month.

Surya was founded in 1976 in the northeastern village of Ugapur, India by Surya Tiwari.

The company set up its first office and warehouse in the United States in 1986 in New York. It moved to Calhoun, Ga., in 2001, where it is currently headquartered.

Surya's mission at the time was to establish a company that would help support and provide income for his family and local villagers.

"We are grateful for the support our customers have given us over the years," said Satya Tiwari, company president. "We hope everyone will have a chance to come to at least one of our events this year. We want to celebrate and honor them throughout the year to thank them for everything they have done to help make us the company we are today."
