LegendBlues recreates new furnishings from old jeans

GREAT FALLS, Va. - LegendBlues, a new line of custom denim furniture, pillows and accessories is making its debut at Bed Headers, a high-end retail store here.

Upholstery is made from recycled or new jeans and the solid wood furniture frames are made from northern soft maple. Pillows and throws are accessorized with crystals, lace, cotton, cashmere or faux fur. All products are made in the U.S.A.

The company got its start in 2009 when Elizabeth Richardson, a designer and marketing executive, upholstered a chair with old jeans she had saved over the years.

Bed-Headers' owner, Joan Barmat, said Richardson's upholstered chairs and ottomans "demonstrate creative thinking, quality design, masterful craftsmanship and highly practical day-to-day usefulness that is a combination of characteristics that we strive to offer in all the products at Bed-Headers Home."

Bed-Headers is located at Great Falls Shopping Center, 9895 Georgetown Pike.
