ASID NY Metro chapter selects NYIGF Best of the Best

NEW YORK — The American Society of Interior Designers NY Metro chapter recognized seven exhibitors in At Home at the New York International Gift Fair as Best of the Best at the 2011 summer market.

At Home, one of 10 divisions presented semi-annually at the NYIGF, runs through Wednesday, Aug. 17, at New York City's Passenger Ship Terminal Pier 94.

The summer 2011 ASID Best of the Best honorees are:

Imaginative product presentation: Gold Leaf Design Group, Inc.; Chicago

Innovative product design: Aviva Stanoff; Brooklyn, N.Y.

Social responsibility, ecological sensitivity and universal design awareness: 2b design; Monteverde, Lebanon

Lighting: Solaria Lighting Inc.; Decatur, Ga.

Accessories: Design Legacy, the Nancy Price collection; Dallas

Floor coverings: Mad Mats by Mariachi Imports; Philadelphia

Wall art: Natural Curiosities Art House; Los Angeles

Judges for the ASID summer 2011 Best of the Best Awards were Lori Falk, ASID, Individual Design; Judy Girod, FASID, Lothrop Associates Architects; Lynn Horwitz, ASID, Living Hive Design; Benjamin Huntington, ASID, MH Studio; Fred Kass, ASID, Interior Spaces and Michelle Slovak, Allied Member ASID, Michelle Slovak.

"ASID members recognize NYIGF as a comprehensive and consolidated collection of trend-forward resources," said Maggie Cohen, president of the ASID NY Metro chapter. "These companies in particular have caught our judges' attention for their innovative and fresh design concepts."
