Casual Market Chicago, theMART support hurricane victims

After the devastation caused by Hurricanes Harvey and Irma, the Casual Market Chicago and the Merchandise Mart (theMART) have announced a donation-matching program benefiting the American Red Cross.

“Witnessing the destruction of homes and businesses in our country has been truly heartbreaking,” said Beth Hicks, managing director of marketing for the Design Center at theMART and Casual Market Chicago. “The casual furnishings industry is deeply rooted in the Southeastern and Southwestern states that have been affected, and we feel it is important for us to come together to support victims of the disaster.”

Casual Market Chicago and theMART are asking those who would like to help to text REDCROSS to 90999; $10 will be added to participants’ wireless bill, and the funds will be sent to the American Red Cross. Those who donate can post their contribution to Facebook or Instagram using the hashtag #CasualCares, and theMART will match donations up to $5,000.

Casual Market Chicago organizers are kicking off the digital fundraising campaign this week to coincide with the annual trade show.
