LAS VEGAS — Las Vegas Design Center at World Market Center Las Vegas, in partnership with Pantone Color Institute, held its annual holiday gala celebration Dec. 19, at which was featured a Pantone Color of the Year display.
The gala was held one week after Pantone announced its Color of the Year for 2012, Tangerine Tango. The event marks the first time any Design Center has partnered with Pantone to celebrate its Color of the Year with a large-scale event, according to WMC Las Vegas.
"We were thrilled to partner with Pantone to headline the 2012 Color of the Year," said Randy Wells, vice president, Las Vegas Design Center. "Pantone is not just the most respected authority on color, they are the authority. Their influence over both the design and fashion industries is unparalleled. This unprecedented partnership with Pantone speaks to our continued commitment to bringing the best of the best to Las Vegas Design Center."
Prior to the celebration, Pantone Executive Director Leatrice Eiseman gave a brief presentation on the process of selecting the Pantone Color of the Year. The annual gala included tango dancers, aerialists draped from the ceiling and dancers dressed in Tangerine Tango. The event also featured signature cocktails and appetizers in the celebrated color.
"The release of the color of the year is Pantone's single-most significant annual announcement that generates huge and ongoing global buzz," Eiseman said. "We were pleased to partner with Las Vegas Design Center to share the 2012 Color of the Year with the area's regional design industry immediately following our official announcement. We look forward to an ongoing partnership with LVDC and hope to continue to bring a firsts-in-color to Las Vegas and its thriving design community."
We would love your feedback!
