Couristan makes High Point Market comeback

Rug company opens new showroom

couristanFORT LEE, N.J. – After being away for the past eight years, Couristan is back at High Point Market.

The more than 90-year-old area rug and carpet company has opened a new, 5,000-square-foot showroom at Showplace 2350.

“It’s a prime spot,” said Larry Mahurter, vice president of marketing and advertising. “It will showcase our area rug assortment as well as wall-to-wall carpeting and our custom rug capabilities.”

He added the space will be setup with several “carefully showcased” product vignettes intended to invite visitors to “feel at home.”

Other features include workstations, a “Couristan Café” and a comfort zone furnished with massage chairs.

The new High Point showroom opens on the heels of the company’s New York City showroom, which debuted in March and is located at 230 Fifth Ave.

The company also operates showrooms here at headquarters as well as Atlanta and Las Vegas.
