NAPLES, Fla. - Robb & Stucky International, which opened its first store in nearby Fort Myers, Fla., this month, has purchased 2.3 acres here for a second 60,000-square-foot showroom.
Steve Lush, president of Robb & Stucky International, confirmed the company paid $3.8 million for the site, near a prominent retail area called Fifth Avenue. It plans to demolish a small strip center to build a new two-level showroom.
Lush said the company is planning a "spectacular" store, "designed to integrate well with the look and feel of downtown Naples."
"The interior will be bright and open, and will feature our six lifestyles, plus specialty shops containing outdoor, leather, bedding, oriental rugs and floor coverings," he said.
Robb & Stucky hopes to begin construction this spring for an early 2013 opening.
The new upscale retailer is owned by Samson Holding CEO Samuel Kuo and his family. They acquired the rights to the Robb & Stucky name and other intellectual assets for $470,000 last year following the former Robb & Stucky's bankruptcy filing and subsequent closing.
The new owners have said they plan on reestablishing the brand in the United States before expanding it overseas. Lush said the Naples stores will be its second "at this point."
"However, we are actively pursuing property in another market; if we find a suitable property, there is a possibility it could open before Naples."
We would love your feedback!
