JANESVILLE, Wis. — Monterey Mills, a supplier of knitted pile fabrics, will present its 2011 Design-A-Throw Awards during a press conference on March 6, at 1 p.m. at the Savannah School of Art and Design, the company announced.
More than 100 students from across the United States designed throws to be added to Monterey Mills' Denali Home Collection's 2012 collection as part of the competition, which was sponsored by the company and designathrow.com.
"Our goal was to utilize the talents of students to develop new designs into the line," said Daniel Sinykin, president and CEO, Monterey Mills. "We were not only overwhelmed by the response from numerous design schools that participated but were also amazed at the level of creativity. We are awarding the top five designs, but many of them may become part of our line in the future."
Denali Home Collection is comprised of double-sided throws constructed of Microplush pile fabric and acrylic. The company typically adds three or four new patterns a year, but will debut 20 in 2012.
The Fall 2012 Design-A-Throw Contest will focus on an Americana theme. More information can be found at www.designathrow.com.
