new slate of officers and board members for 2012.
New officers are Claudia Giselle Tejeda (Claudia Giselle Design), president; Penny Sikalis (GLM), treasurer; Jean Nayar, (journalist), recording secretary; Linda Kulla (Bardwil Industries), director-at-large.
The new Board of Directors includes Claire Coleman, honorary advisor; Hermine Mariaux, future directions; Su Hilty and Andrea Algaze, awards & recognition; Christine Abbate and Cathy Guterman, communications; Susan Hirsh and Michelle Slovak, education; Rose Gilbert, membership retention; Maria Malpica, membership recruitment; Kara Marmion, programs; Jessica Tolliver, publications and Lauren Miele, student liaison. The office administrator is Rose Hittmeyer.
The IFDA is the only organization whose members represent the total design and furnishing industry in all its aspects. Founded in New York City, IFDA has 16 chapters nationwide, members in China and a new chapter in Japan has recently been launched.
Providing a professional forum for communication and interaction among its high-profile members, IFDA promotes career advancement and educational opportunities. Now celebrating its 65th year, the association is structured to increase public awareness of the furnishings and design industry through specialized programming and service to the community.
