Macef International Home Show set for September

MILAN, ITALY - Macef, the International Home Show, will take place September 6-9 at Fiera Milano's new fairground in Rho, Italy. The fair brings together major national and international brands in five product sectors: Home Decor; Tableware/Kitchenware; Silverware; Bijoux, Gold, Fashion and Accessories; and Gifts.

One of the major draws to the fair is the showcase of the best of Italian design and the presentation of Made-in-Italy products, which represent the quality and craftsmanship for which Italian production is known. "Opera Italiana" is a special juried section devoted to the excellence of Italian manufacturing and design. It will showcase a range of Italian enterprise from major brands to small artisan enterprises. The area will be set up in themed display vignettes inspired by Italian lifestyles and room settings - both classic and contemporary. Among the products to be displayed are textiles, accessories, lighting, ceramics, glass and small leather items.

Macef will also highlight the best of all product sectors in special displays in a new concept: AbitaMi lab - true labs, thematic exhibit areas. Each AbitaMi lab will be devoted to a specific topic or category and will showcase examples of product innovation, use of materials, manufacturing process, and new sales modes. For example, AbitaMi lab Home Décor presents "Living green," showing the interaction between outdoor and indoor spaces; "Sustainable Home," showing environmentally sustainable products; "Creazioni and ..." presenting new sectors, such as museum merchandising and artistan craftsmanship; and "That's the gift," a lab presenting to storekeepers all packaging innovations.

Bijoux, which runs in conjunction with Macef, presents collections of fashion accessories, costume and bridge jewelry, as well as jewelry components. A Cash & Carry area allows buyers to buy directly for immediate delivery. The Designer Club is a section of Bijoux devoted to the unique creations of young international designers.
