New Century Picture Corp. announces new ownership

CHICAGO - Jerry Sharlin, founder and CEO of New Century Picture Corp., announces the sale of the company to David Mecklenburger, a Chicago-area business executive, effective July 1, 2012.
Sharlin, who has successfully owned and operated the business for more than 28 years, will continue in an advisory role to Mecklenburger, now the CEO. Stan Terry, chief operating officer since 1999, will be working closely with Mecklenburger in a transitional role. Jason Kasal, design manager since 1999, and Rosa Avitia, production manager and one of the company's first employees, will remain with the company.
Mecklenburger has spent 30 years managing and growing manufacturing and distribution businesses in the Chicago area. To his new role, he brings a strong track record of operational, financial and people skills, along with a dedication to quality manufacturing and customer service. He is investing his personal capital in the business and says he looks forward to being an active owner/manager and building on the excellent reputation the company has earned under Sharlin's leadership.
Mecklenburger will be at the summer Las Vegas Market to meet with sales reps, vendors, and current and potential customers.
Since 1984, New Century Picture Corp. has designed, developed and manufactured quality framed art and other wall décor products. The company's products are produced in Chicago and marketed throughout the U.S. primarily by independent sales representatives. Customers include furniture and department stores, mass merchandise retail chains, gift shops, mail order houses and catalog showrooms.
