The Bombay Company and Powell enter into licensing partnership

NEW YORK - The Bombay Company announced a new licensee partnership with The Powell Company that will expand Bombay's product offerings in accent seating, ottomans and benches, casual dining, youth bedroomBombayPowell furniture, accent furniture and small giftable items. The collection includes a variety of best seller and classic items, in addition to new pieces.
"The Bombay Company has always been synonymous with value luxury, stylish design and time-tested quality," said Wil Hollands, president of Hermes-Otto International USA and owner of The Bombay Company brand. "We are proud to partner with The Powell Company, a recognized name in the home furnishings industry who is known for their dedication to craftsmanship and timeless designs."

Founded in 1968, The Powell Company is a triple winner of the Pinnacle Design Achievement Award and is known for its youth bedroom, casual dining, upholstered accent seating and accent furniture.

"Bombay is still one of the best-known furniture brands in the industry and it resonates strongly with consumers of all ages. We immediately embraced the brand once it became available," said Jim Ziozis, CEO of The Powell Company. "It is a perfect match for The Powell Company's traditional and core competencies. Our retail partners are as excited about this as we are."

The collection will be displayed in The Powell Company showroom during the Fall High Point Market. Orders will start shipping in spring 2013.

The Bombay Company will continue developing and maintaining long-term relationships with key retailers to expand their presence across multiple lifestyle categories. Hermes-Otto International will continue to directly design, source and import in their areas of core competency of furniture, décor, wall décor, seasonal and lawn and garden categories. The Bombay brand is now available at select specialty and mass retailers and online nationwide.
