DALLAS -- Dallas Market Center is partnering with Bud Royer of Royer's Round Top Café in Round Top, Texas, to bring a little holiday cheer to victims of Hurricane Sandy in New York and New Jersey.
Next week, Royer will drive a refrigerated truck filled with 650-700 of his homemade pies, enough to feed 5,000 people, to the Jersey Shore, Staten Island and the Rockaways, Dallas Market Center announced.
He will make stops at relief centers, shelters and work sites to distribute pies and moral support as part of the "From the heart of Texas to the souls of Sandy" relief effort. Royer will also distribute $25 gift cards from stores such as Lowes and Home Depot at each stop.
Dallas Market Center is underwriting the trip, but donations are still needed to cover the gift cards. Click here for more information or to make a donation.
We would love your feedback!
