Wayfair reports record Black Friday, Cyber Monday sales

BOSTON - Wayfair.com, the online retailer of home furnishings and other products, had a record-breaking Black
Friday with sales of more than $3.5 million and, late Cyber Monday, said it was on track to exceed $6 million in revenue by midnight with hourly sales up 55% from last year.
Sales for the holiday weekend were up 37% from a year ago, and the company more than doubled the percent of revenues from shoppers using mobile devices.
"We are seeing tremendous sales growth this holiday season," Wayfair CEO Niraj Shah said in a release Monday. "The past few days have been remarkable and today will be our biggest day ever as Wayfair.com shoppers continue to discover great prices on everything they need for holiday entertaining, decorating and gifting."
The site's top sellers for Cyber Monday were coffee makers, down comforters, sheet sets, bean bag chairs, trampolines and a Justin Bieber cardboard cut-out. Top-selling items on Black Friday included luxury sheet sets, lamps, television stands, game tables, dolls and electronic toys.
