GLM has announced the promotion of Michelle Karol to the position of sales manager for NY Now Handmade, one of four product collections to debut at the summer edition of NY Now, the Market for Home & Lifestyle (formerly NYIGF).
Karol, a five-year veteran of New York's Handmade sales team, will report directly to NY Now Director and GLM Senior Vice President Christian Falkenberg.
"Michelle was the perfect candidate for this position because of her depth of craft market knowledge and her long-standing relationships with exhibitors," Falkenberg said. "Her recent involvement with the reorganization of Handmade will facilitate her direction of the collection now, and in future."
As sales manager, Karol's responsibilities will include oversight of exhibit floor layout and exhibitor relations, as well as the supervision of a Handmade sales representative. Following her graduation from Fordham University in 2008 with a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree, Karol joined GLM. She replaces former sales manager Liz Beauregard, who has left the company to pursue other interests.
NY Now will run Saturday, Aug. 17, through Wednesday, Aug. 21, at New York City's Jacob K. Javits Convention Center and Passenger Ship Terminal Pier 94.
