Pinnacle Awards finalists announced

A Total of 52 Finalists in 16 categories have been chosen as finalists for the 2013 ASFD Pinnacle Awards, the highest honor bestowed upon furniture industry designers.
The finalists for the 18th annual awards were announced during the Las Vegas Market by Bob Maricich, president and CEO of International Market Centers.
"It was a distinguished honor for IMC to be the first to reveal these outstanding designer talents to our industry and the public," Maricich said in a statement. "Since many of the designers are represented at WMC, we have an opportunity to extend congratulations personally.
The nominees in the home accent categories are:
■ Cavaletti, by David Kitts, David Martin and Zach Pyle for Hubbardton Forge
■ East Village, by Sergio Orozco for Pegtom International
■ Grand Tour Lamp, by Pride Sasser for Century Furniture
■ New Wave, by Carol Canner for Carvers' Guild
■ Square Root Wall Décor, by Mark Phillips for Phillips Collection
■ Zahra Collection, by Lauren Jordal for Surya
■ Aviator, by Kim Price for Kavante Inc.
■ Cage Cocktail Tables, by Jason Phillips for Phillips Collection
■ Fiore, by Michael Wolk for Johnston Casuals Furniture
■ Froissage, by Kim Price for Kavante Inc.
■ Aroma, by Shane Evans for John-Richard
■ Create A Curio, by Davide Tonizzo for Buhler Furniture
■Lotus Bar Cabinet, by Charlie Zagaroli for Century Furniture

Finalists were also named in Youth Furniture, Casual Dining, Formal Dining, Motion Upholstery, Stationary Upholstery, Leather Upholstery, Home Office, Home Entertainment, Summer/Casual, Bedroom and Major Collections.
The awards ceremony will be hosted by Furniture Today Editor in Chief Ray Allegrezza and Alexa Hampton, owner and president of Mark Hampton LLC, on Oct. 21 at the High Point Market.
Home Accents Today sister publication Furniture Today is a major underwriter of the annual Pinnacle Awards, which were created in 1995 by the American Society of Furniture Designers to promote design quality and recognize the talent of furniture industry designers.
"Celebrating ASFD's 18th Annual Pinnacles, we're planning a spectacular event," said Jason Phillips of Phillips Collection, ASFD vice president and 2013 Pinnacle chairman, noting that winners will be the first to receive a new trophy commissioned by the Southern Virginia Higher Education Center.
