The Las Vegas Furniture Market has rescheduled its dates to July 25–29, 2005, to accommodate an overflow of exhibitors and maximize available convention space in Las Vegas.
The World Market Center has expanded the size of the first market by 40%. The market will now encompass 2.3 million square feet of permanent and temporary exhibition space, up from the 1.6 million square feet originally planned.
The expansion will add an additional 630,000 square feet of exhibition space, contracted at Las Vegas Convention Center, with provisions to add more space as needed.
"We are thrilled by the tremendous demand for space at Las Vegas Market," said Dave Palmer, World Market Center general manager, "and decided it would be advantageous to our market and to our exhibitors to expand the offering.
Having grown our debut event by 40 percent, before even opening the facility, is an example of the kind of impact Las Vegas is having on the home furnishings industry."
The market also has launched its newly re-designed Web site www.LasVegasMarket.com and its online registration program.
Construction of World Market Center is ahead of schedule, with the exterior of the 1.3 million sq.-ft. building starting to take shape, 230 showrooms in design and development, and October marking the "topping off" of the 10th floor of the facility.
Completion of the first building and tenant build-outs is expected by May.
