HATs off to us
Becky Boswell Smith -- Home Accents Today, 1/1/2005
Well, we've done it again, folks. Made it through another year. We should all be rather pleased with ourselves. And it is 2005 now — another year, another beginning. Frankly, I'm not one to talk about age very much — I only like my own if you're dyslexic and reverse the two digits. But I do like talking about age as it relates to Home Accents Today.
With this issue, we begin our 20th year of publication and we're just plain proud of that record. From 1986 when our name was Accessories/Today and we were squirming out from under the shadow of our big sister Furniture/Today with three issues to 2005, when we will publish 15 issues, we think we've done OK.
And before anyone else says it, we're also certain we can do better. That's what we will continue to attempt with every issue we publish.
We're going to celebrate for all of this 20th year in lots of ways — with parties and fun ads (the first ones are in this issue) and with a special page each month. The page (p. 30 in this issue) takes a look at a particular year: the styles, the people and the news.
In September we also will publish a special issue marking our 20 years. It's going to be a fun year.
In the meantime, we tip our HAT to you, our readers.
