Fashion Focus highlights products on each cover. In April a wood swan lamp by David Thomas and a terra cotta bust of Caesar Augustus by Sarreid are featured. July focuses on soft greens and rich floral motifs and in October we speak of country charm.
Wall decor offerings are dominated by overscaling, unusual paper techniques, gold embellishments, crystal and art glass and interpretations in stone.
Sketchbook styles include country as "unquestionably the most popular of all decors today," contemporary (with Eurostyle lacquer accents, brass and glass and 1940s palette), soft pastels like rainbows combining shades of peach, rose and mauve, American casual with bleached and pickled distressed light woods, Native American with natural textures and desert colors
Diverse materials like Lucite acrylic are popping up in lamp and accessory designs and artificial floral and plant arrangements are growing in popularity.
In 1986 pastels — remember mauve? — graced our Exclusive Sketchbook page. Sketchbooks remain a hallmark for HAT
