Eminence Style closes

Eminence Style, Atlanta-based manufacturer of accent furniture, upholstery and decorative accents, has closed its doors after nine years of business.
"I'd been antsy the last year and I'm in that 'over 50 realm,'" said JoAnn Antonelli, co-owner. "I wanted to get back to my passion, my background and do something I really love and that was to open a healing center."
Antonelli and co-owner/daughter Heather Antonelli spent the last year looking at their business and what they wanted to do. Nearly 85% of Eminence Style's sales come from Europe, and with the declining euro the duo realized they'd either have to start making their product in China to cut costs, or take a different road.
"It was never in my heart to have our product made in China," Antonelli said. "I told Heather I'd stay on as a consultant if she wanted to keep the company, but she was at a point too where she was ready to move on."
She took a month-long sabbatical in the fall, and during that trip decided her next project would be a healing center/spa.
