Brownlee Currey has been promoted to chief operating officer of lighting producer Currey & Company.
He fills the position recently vacated by Sonny Koontz who has moved to a consulting position with the company. Currey formally joined the company in 2001 and has served as manager of production planning/inventory control for the past two years after playing a major role in developing and implementing the systems for these functions.
Currey is the son of Currey & Company founders, Robert and Suzanne Currey, and acted in various roles during the summers of his high school and college years. He worked for Crate & Barrel Furniture in Chicago and Detroit.
"Since delivery is the most important part of the equation of serving customers better, a main focus of my efforts will be to further improve delivery," he said.
